_____ _____ of all I Jacob Cox of Sugar Creek Township,
Wayne County, Ohio. Do publish this my last Will and Testament as
follows. Its my will that all my past Debts and funeral expenses
be paid out of my estate. All my personal property be sold at Public
Sale by my Executors as soon as convenient after my death.
I hereby revoke all former wills by me made. I hereby nominate and appoint David Rudy and Wesley D Harper my Executor of this my last will and Testament.

APPLICATION TO PROBATE WILL
David Rudy came to Probate Court in the matter
of Jacob Cox (deceased), Sugar Creek Township, Last Will and Testament.
Who died on March 14, 1885, leaving no Widow.
The following named persons, all of his next of kin resident in the State
of Ohio.

Cox that last Will and Testament was produced in court the 19th day of
March of 1885 and there will be a hearing before this court the 30 day
of March 1885 at 9 A.M.

NOTICE OF APPRAISEMENT
An Inventory and Appraisement of the State and Property of Jacob Cox late
of Wayne County, Ohio will be taken at his late residence in Sugar Creek
Township on the 25 day of April 1885 and continue from day to day thereafter,
if necessary, until completed
18 day of April, 1885, Isaac Johnson

David Rudy, swears that between the 16 day of April and. 19 day of April,
1885, caused copies of the above notice to be served upon all of the next
of kin of said Jacob Cox, caused. 3 copies of said notice to be put up
in a conspicuous place within Sugar Creek, Township, in said County.

These receipts on Jacob Cox’s estate may interest historians of 19th century economics. Robert curiously wrote his name "Robbert Cox." Rebecca’s husband signed on her behalf for $500. Executors paid fire insurance to W. S. Orr, attorney for J. W. Metz.
