_____ _____ of all I Jacob Cox of Sugar Creek Township,
Wayne County, Ohio. Do publish this my last Will and Testament as
follows. Its my will that all my past Debts and funeral expenses
be paid out of my estate. All my personal property be sold at Public
Sale by my Executors as soon as convenient after my death.
All my real estate that I may own at my death to be ________ and
_________ by my executor and put in good repair, and sell the farm
within that year either at private or public sale and divide the
proceeds of the sale of the farm and also proceeds of the personal
property as follows:
My son Newton to have one hundred dollars and all the obligations
that I now hold against him, for taking care of me during my life
over and above the ________ _____ heirs: should my son Newton [cease?]
_____ to take care of me or die before me; then in that case the
[said?] ____ amounts be collected by my executors and other money
of my estate and distribute as follows:
My executors to distribute my estate equally among my eight heirs
namely Eli Cox, my daughter Susanna Eckard, Andrew Cox, J.F. Cox,
Alpheus Cox, Rebecca J. Harper, S.D. Cox and Newton Cox (excepting
the following__ .) Executors to collect the following
notes that I hold against the following heirs one note against my
son Alpheus $388 dollars, my son Andrew $200 dollars, my son Samuel
Cox $100 dollars, my son J.F. Cox for $50 dollars: My executors
to take out of their amounts their fees and court fees and the other
expense of selling the estate and the balance to be paid to the
Baptist Home Mission Society in the ______Association.
I hereby revoke all former wills by me made. I
hereby nominate and appoint David Rudy and Wesley D Harper my Executor
of this my last will and Testament.
