The following recapitulative tables of records on the Coxes in Wayne County, Ohio, contain quite a few inconsistencies in spelling, and some errors in birth dates, notably for our great-aunt Lizzie, listed here as "Celesta E. Cox." In fact, Celestial Elizabeth Cox was born 06 February 1880, not March. Census records correctly give her birthdate as 06 February 1880.
As for her father, our great-grandfather, William Newton Cox, the list below provides several choices in abbrevations: either W.A., W.N., Wm. N., or W.S. Needless to say, they all are the same individual: William Newton Cox, born circa 1845 in Wayne County, Ohio. Caroline Broadback, his first wife, and their two daughters are included in the tables below. Ellen Loretta Adams, his second wife, and their first three children are also included. This corroborates the theory that the family left Ohio for Kansas and Indian Territory after the birth of Celestial and after the census of 1880 was conducted.
